W.O. wins one and ties one against Muskegon Reeths Puffer

After returning from an awesome team trip to TN for spring training, the Panthers went on the road to Muskegon Reeths Puffer on Tues., 4/13 to play a double header. The Panthers won the first game 9-2 against an outstanding pitching performance by sophomore Hannah Goble. Goble allowed 2 runs on 3 hits while striking out 9 and walking 1. She also helped offensively with two hits and an RBI. Other players with two hits were sophomore Elaine Whitbeck, and freshman Heather Essenburg.

The nightcap was called due to darkness with the teams being tied at 6-6. Reeths Puffer jumped out to an early 6-2 lead but the Panthers kept chopping away and tied it 6-6 before the game was called. Junior Katelyn Klinesteker lead the offensive attack with two singles.

West Ottawa now stands at 1 win, 1 loss and 1 tie early in the season.

WO is back in action today with a home double header starting at 4:30 pm against Grand Rapids Union.
